Driver Crashes into Amazon Truck

LOCATION: 23811 West Valley HWY
AREA/CITY: Kent
DETAILS:
- A Semi was traveling NB on West Valley highway, according to witnesses, it had the right of way with a green light when entering the intersection
- A small SUV was traveling WB on James st and appears to have not yielded to the red light colliding with the side of the semi
- The SUV went under the trailer and upon contacted the front trailer axel was then drug about 1000 feet north to the semis resting place
- The driver of the semi did not initially know a car had been struck or that it was under the trailer which elongated the scene and debris field
- The driver miraculously survived however is in life threatening condition. The extrication was a prolonged process during what was believed at the time to be agonal breathing. Medics were on scene an extended amount of time stabilizing the PT before transporting to HMC
