Driver Arrested For DUI after Crash Kills 60 Year-Old Man

RIVERSIDE, CA – On Saturday, April 19, 2025, at approximately 10:31 AM, the City of Riverside Emergency Dispatch Center received calls of a multi-vehicle injury traffic collision in the area of University Ave and Park Ave. Riverside Police and Fire Personnel responded to the scene. The preliminary investigation revealed 24-year-old female resident of Riverside was driving a gray 2019 Toyota Camry westbound on University Ave when a collision occurred with a white 2004 Nissan Titan pickup driving southbound on Park Ave.
The driver of the Nissan Titan, a 60-year-old male resident of Riverside, was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the Toyota Camry was uninjured. The Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded and assumed the traffic collision investigation. The driver of the Toyota Camry was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert and determined the driver to be driving under the influence of cannabis. The driver was arrested for Gross Vehicular Manslaughter While Intoxicated and booked into Robert Presley Detention Center
