Dozens of Teens Break Into Downtown US Bank Building

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on April 5, 2026, Los Angeles Police Department Central Division officers responded to a reported break-in near 5th Street and Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles. According to a security guard, more than 40 teens forced entry through a rear door after using a crowbar to remove a security plate.

The group made their way through the building and ultimately reached the rooftop before officers arrived. LAPD quickly secured the area, though several individuals were seen fleeing out of a rear exit and heading northbound on Grand Avenue.

Most of the teens were detained at the scene, cited, and released after approximately an hour. Authorities noted that many of those involved were underage, and parents were contacted to pick them up one by one. No injuries were reported.
