Downey: Stalled Vehicle Causes Five-Car Pileup

11.05.2018 | 1:24 PM | DOWNEY – A stalled vehicle caused a five car pileup that resulted in several injuries, early Monday morning.

Officials responded just before 1:30 AM to the northbound I-605 just north of Florence Avenue regarding reports of a multi-vehicle traffic collision.

Units arriving on scene found at least five vehicles, including ones down an embankment.

Firefighter paramedics transported at least two patients to area hospitals while officers searched for a third who reportedly fled.

Initial reports indicate a vehicle was stalled in the #3 lane before being struck by another vehicle that quickly piled-up.
