Downey: Murder Suspects Taken Into Custody After Pursuit

12.14.2018 | 2:30 AM | DOWNEY – Several people wanted for their suspected involvement in a murder were under arrest after leading officers on a pursuit, Friday morning.

Deputies observed a vehicle wanted for it’s involvement in a deadly shooting that occurred earlier at the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and Eastern Avenue.

Authorities attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle but the driver fled, initiating a pursuit that quickly entered the southbound I-5 freeway.

During the chase one of the suspects tossed a firearm from the vehicle before exiting the freeway and later surrendering in a residential neighborhood in Downey.

All suspects were taken into custody without incident.
