DETAILS:
- DPS and Tempe Fire responded to a two vehicle motor vehicle accident in the eastbound lanes of travel just East of Scottsdale Road around 8:15 PM Monday evening.
- Troopers arrived and found a white pickup and a black suv that had collided at a high rate of speed.
- At least two people were pronounced dead at the collision.
- All eastbound freeway traffic was forced to exit at Rural / Scottsdale Road for several hours.
- Troopers are investigating the collision.
