Dogs & Turtle Rescued From Burning Home in Chula Vista
11.09.2020 | 10:15 AM | CHULA VISTA – A turtle and a dog were rescued from a burning home Monday morning after a friend watching the home fell asleep.
Chula Vista Firefighters along with assistance from San Diego FD responded to the 1500 Block of Loma Ct around 10:15 AM for a reported fire.
The two residents were not home at the time of the fire, but a friend was sleeping in an upstairs bedroom and staying with the 4 pets, when a different friend came to the house to visit her and found smoke coming out of the upstairs winds and roof.
He rushed upstairs and woke the female up and they got 2 of the 3 dogs out. The male tried to put out the fire in the master bedroom.
Firefighters arrived and found that the entire master bedroom was on fire and it appeared to have started in the bed.
Firefighters rescued the 3rd dog and a pet turtle from the house. Firefighters reportedly found a large number of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia in the house.
The CVFD Fire Investigators arrived to start their investigation along with CVPD Detectives.
The residents will be displaced for now.
