2. On Dec. 31, 2024 at approximately 7:43 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Alamitos Avenue regarding a shots call. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased dog with a gunshot wound. The preliminary investigation indicates the dog attacked a male adult subject who discharged a firearm, striking the dog. The investigation is ongoing. The subject fled the scene before officers arrived. The circumstances of the shooting are under investigation.
