Dog Attacks Family, Injuring Three (GRAPHIC)

NORWALK (CNS) – A family dog attacked two men and a woman in a Norwalk house, authorities said Monday.

The attack occurred about 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the 14100 block of Crossdale Avenue, Lt. A. Healey of the Norwalk Sheriff’s Station told City News Service.

It appeared to be a spontaneous attack by the dog, described as a pit bull, Healey said. Injuries ranged from moderate to minor.

One of the victims stabbed the dog three or four times, he said.

The Southeast Area Animal Control Authority picked up the dog. The animal’s condition was not available, Healey said.

Two of the victims were taken to a hospital for treatment by ambulance, he said

 

  1. At least three people were hurt after being attacked by their family dog, prompting a large response by sheriff deputies, paramedics, and animal control officers Sunday night.
  2. The 911 call came in shortly after 7:30 PM Sunday when LASD Norwalk deputies were called to a single-family home on Crossdale Ave just north of Rosecrans Avenue.
  3. Authorities arrived to discover three people hurt: a female and two males
  4. Paramedics transported at least one male with multiple face and hand wounds to a hospital. The second female was transported in a second ambulance with what appeared to be leg wounds.
  5. A third male sustained arm and leg wounds but declined medical transport
  6. It appeared only one teenage son was present, though the juvenile seemed uninjured
  7. The dog was neutralized, unsure if by the family or deputies. The dog was later seen being carried out with a dog stick and a cage around its muzzle, it is unknown if it was still alive (GRAPHIC)
  8. The dog appeared to be a Pitt Bull or a Bulldog. SEAACA officers took custody and rushed it to their facility ,where its fate is unknown
