Dog and Driver Rescued after being Trapped over Hour in Semi

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 12-8-23, 1:12 am
LOCATION: WB 210 Fwy, Grand Ave
CITY: Glendora
DETAILS:

1. CHP and LAcoFD responded to a traffic collision involving a semi on the westbound 210 freeway just before Grand Avenue in the city of Glendora.

2. Firefighters arrived on the scene and located a semi trapped between a pole with the driver and a dog trapped inside.

3. CHP officers from the Baldwin Park office and a firefighter, were able to rescue the dog from the engine bay.

4. The Los Angeles County Fire Department had requested Urban Search and Rescue to respond with their heavy-duty tow truck to assist in the rescue.

5. After about an hour, firefighters were able to get the driver out of the semi and transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.

6. CHP and firefighters located a gun inside the semi.

7. CHP only has the two lanes open for traffic on the left.
