Dodge Charger Crashes After Occupant Gets Shot

Phoenix Police and Phoenix Fire crews responded to reports of a person shot inside of a vehicle south of Camelback Road on Black Canyon Highway.

The shooting reportedly occurred on the southbound I-17 near Camelback.

The vehicle exited the 17 at Camelback and crashed into a dirt lot near 2500 W. Pierson Street.

2 occupants, a man and a woman, fled from the vehicle, leaving the GSW victim behind.

Both were detained by police moments later.

Officers approached the vehicle and began rendering aid to the victim until firefighters arrived on scene.

Once on scene, Phoenix Fire crews transported the victim to a local trauma center in unknown condition.

A single bullet hole can be seen in the passenger front door of the Charger.

Phoenix Police have taken command of the scene and are actively investigating the incident.
