Diamond Bar: Deputy Struck By Suspected DUI Driver
07.04.2020 | 11:50 PM | DIAMOND BAR – A Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputy was injured after being struck head-on by a suspected DUI driver, late Saturday night.
Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department patrol vehicle at the intersection of Grand Avenue and the SR-60 Freeway around 11:50 PM.
Units arriving on scene located a female deputy that had been struck head-on while sitting in her marked patrol vehicle at a red light.
Firefighters had to pop the door of the deputy’s vehicle to free her.
The deputy was treated on scene before being transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
The driver that struck the deputy was taken into custody by officers and was expected to be booked on suspicion of DUI.
