Deputy Shot, Patrol Car Torched | San Bernardino

08.17.2021 | 4:14 PM | SAN BERNARDINO – A San Bernardino County Sheriffs Deputy was shot while trying to pull over a driver. The deputy is assigned to Central Station. San Bernardino County Sheriff Department has said that the deputy is alert and has been transported to a local area trauma center. The officers vehicle has sustained major front end damage due to a fire, and it appears the windows have been broken out. At this time It is unknown if the injured deputy was inside the cruiser when the vehicle caught fire or how the fire started. No information on the suspect has been released. No more information is available at this time. There is a large police presence at the scene and roads remain closed while the incident is being investigated.
