Deputy Injured, Driver Arrested in Collision | Pico Rivera

06.16.2021 | 10:05 PM | PICO RIVERA – A deputy was transported to a nearby hospital and a male is in cuffs after colliding with a LASD patrol vehicle. Deputies put out a call for help shortly after 11 PM advising that they were struck by a vehicle. The driving deputy was reportedly unable to exit the patrol car, while his colleague ran to the white sedan that struck them and detained the “suspect” driving. The suspect vehicle crashed into a fence after striking the patrol vehicle. It is unclear what transpired prior to the crash, however there seems to be indications that the suspect tried to run following the collision. The deputy was walked to a stretcher and taken to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. Deputies had eastbound lanes of Beverly Blvd closed for about an hour as they investigated what happened.
