Deer Springs Wrong Way Double Fatal Crash In San Diego, CA

 

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 3-30-25 2:22 AM
LOCATION: SB 15 North of Deer Springs exit
AREA/CITY: Deer Springs
DETAILS:

1. At around 2:22 AM reports of a wrong way crash came out at the address listed above.
2. Additional 911 calls reported both drivers unconscious and trapped in thier vehicles with one catching fire.
3. Several other vehicles hit debris that was scattered across the freeway lanes.
4. When CHP arrived both drivers were unconscious and trapped in their vehicles.
5. CHP was able to remove the driver from the vehicle that was catching fire and immediately began CPR. But was lattery pronounced deceased.
6. Deer Springs firefighters arrived on scene and extricated the driver from the second vehicle and pronounced them deceased on scene.
7. A SIG alert was placed for southbound all lanes of the SB 15 south of State Route 76.
8. It is unknown how long the freeway will remain closed at this time for the investigation.
