Deadly Shooting Ends In Fiery Crash In Florence

One person was killed following a shooting that ended with a crash in the Florence neighborhood Thursday evening.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on July 22, 2026, deputies responded to two connected scenes in the Florence area.

Investigators believe the incident began at a Chevron gas station near the intersection of Gage Avenue and Holmes Street, where gunfire erupted.

Following the shooting, a dark SUV fled the area before crashing into a white sedan at the intersection of 66th Street and Holmes Street.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel pronounced the driver of the dark SUV dead at the scene.

Occupants of the white sedan were transported to a local hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and officers from the California Highway Patrol remained at both scenes for several hours as investigators worked to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting and crash.

The investigation remains ongoing.
