Deadly Shooting at Houston Motel Leaves One Dead
At approximately 10:45pm on March 24th, 2026, Houston Police Department officers responded to a shooting at the Scottish Inns and Suites on Antoine Drive in Houston.
Upon arrival, officers located a male in his early 60s who was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second male, described as being in his mid-30s, was shot and transported to a hospital in a private vehicle, where he was expected to survive.
According to investigators, the suspect had been leaning against a hotel room door and refused to leave when confronted by an elderly man who had rented the room. Several individuals gathered and attempted to get the suspect to leave, but the situation escalated when the suspect became agitated, walked away, then turned and fired multiple rounds toward the group.
During the incident, another individual reportedly returned fire before leaving the scene. Authorities were working to locate that individual.
The suspect was later spotted near Hammerly and Hollister, fled from officers on foot, and was ultimately located by officers and a K-9 unit inside a nearby apartment complex. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
The investigation remained ongoing.
