Deadly Shooting at Basketball Court Leaves One Dead

At approximately 9:45pm on March 29th, 2026, Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported shooting at a basketball court near Keene Street and 14th Street in Galena Park.

According to authorities, a group of males had been gathered playing basketball when an altercation may have occurred. Shortly after, additional vehicles arrived at the location and multiple shots were fired.

One adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two other victims fled the area before collapsing nearby and were transported to a hospital in critical condition.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives, along with multiple assisting agencies, responded to investigate the shooting.

Authorities described the suspects as three Hispanic males believed to be in their late teens to early 20s. Their identities had not been confirmed. Investigators urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.

The investigation remained ongoing.
