Deadly Rollover Crash Shuts Down I-17 In Phoenix

At approximately 7:20 a.m. on April 12, 2026, a serious rollover crash involving an SUV occurred along northbound I-17 near West Cactus in Phoenix.

First responders arrived to find multiple patients involved, including several children. Due to the severity of the incident, the response was upgraded to a full medical assignment, bringing in additional units.

Preliminary information indicates at least two patients were transported to local hospitals in unknown condition. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing children crawling out of the overturned vehicle prior to the arrival of emergency personnel. Authorities shut down all northbound lanes of I-17 as crews worked the scene, with closures expected to last for an extended period.
