Deadly Hit-and-Run Caught on Camera in East LA

At approximately 11:00pm on March 16th, 2026, deputies and CHP officers responded to a reported vehicle versus pedestrian collision near Olympic Boulevard and Arizona Avenue in East Los Angeles.

Video captured from a nearby home showed a man walking in a crosswalk against a red light when he was struck by a white vehicle. The impact threw the victim across the intersection.

The driver of the vehicle was seen pulling over after the collision. According to a witness, the driver exited the vehicle and then walked away from the scene.

Footage also showed multiple near-misses involving the pedestrian moments before the crash occurred.

Authorities remained on scene awaiting the arrival of the coroner while working to identify and locate the driver involved.

The investigation remained ongoing.
