Deadly Cliff Crash Under Investigation In Palos Verdes

At approximately 1:47 p.m. on May 22, 2026, Los Angeles County firefighters responded to reports of a vehicle that had gone over the side of a cliff near Via Pena and Paseo Del Mar in Palos Verdes Estates.

Responding crews located the vehicle down the cliffside and requested additional rescue resources to assist with the recovery operation.

Authorities later confirmed one male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to witnesses, the vehicle approached the edge of the cliff before continuing over the side.

Firefighters and rescue personnel remained on scene for several hours as crews worked in difficult terrain to access the wreckage.

The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation.
