- Several days of Below Freezing temperatures associated with brutal santa ana winds has cause major area of black ice all through out the roads in the san bernardino mountains.
- after several weeks of intense rain and flooding, the ground is over saturated and waters is leaking out of the ground and causing water flows all through out the streets.
- Santa ana winds started late wednesday and with it came painfully freezing temperatures through out the mountain.
- These water flows started to freeze cause more and more water to dam up behind its own ice.
- The result are these massive sheets of glacier ice all through out he mountain roads in areas that have zero sun exposure.
- over the last several days, there has been a slew of dozens of vehicles gettin stuck on ice, spin outs and even traffic collisions.
- This morning in lake arrowheads, 2 wheel drive vehicles vehicles and trucks struggles to navigate through the thick sheet of ice that spanned close to 80 yards long.
- no injuries were reported today as the freezing temperatures and heavy winds continue.
