Danbury Police Officer Shot At Domestic Dispute

DETAILS:
- Danbury PD responded to reports of a domestic
- Arriving officer located a family residence and sometime shortly after arriving, the male son/ Grandson shot the officer
- Officer came over the radio and requested medical and additional units
- Officer was transported by ground to a nearby trauma center where his injuries were better assessed
- The officer was flown to the Med Center for further treatment due to his injuries
- A female, believed to be the grandmother of the suspect, was flown via lifeflight to TMC for a broken hip or leg. (call notes said 88 y/o female)
- Prelim info from scanners was officer shot in the ear. later learned the bullet may have gone in and lodged behind jaw
- Suspect was taken into custody after an exhaustive search using 2 helicopters, a DPS plane, SWAT team and resources from numerous departments throughout the region. Suspect was located at around midnight, about 1/2 mile from the scene.
