Cypress: Garage Fire Damages Home

07.18.2019 | 12:30 AM | CYPRESS – A home was damaged after a garage fire, early Thursday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a residential structure fire in the 5100 block of New York Avenue around 12:30 AM.

Crews arriving on scene found heavy smoke and fire coming from an attached garage and began efforts to extinguish the flames.

Within 20 minutes crews had achieved knockdown of the fire but not before the home was seriously damaged by smoke.

No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported and fire investigators were responding to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire.
