Cylinder Truck Crash Carrying Multiple Gasses Causes Hazmat Response
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 7-28-25, 10:23 a.m.
LOCATION: 11000 block of Mission Boulevard
AREA/CITY: Jurupa Valley
DETAILS:
- According to RSO, PIO, LT, Vickers, At 10:23 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 11000 block of Mission Boulevard regarding a single-vehicle traffic collision. Upon arrival, deputies located a truck with collision damage that was transporting propane tanks. The hazmat team responded to assist and determined that the gases were contained and that there was no threat to the public. The driver was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition. The investigation into the cause of the collision remains ongoing.
- According to the Battalion Chief, the truck was carrying cylinders with Helium, CO2, Argon, Liquid nitrogen and oxygen. Both directions of mission Blvd from Wineville Rd. to Etiwanda Ave were shut down from 10:30 to around 2 p.m. Union Pacific had to shut down their railways because the crash occurred next to the tracks, that are active with trains. Union Pacific reopened the tracks and HazMat completed the clean up of he contents of the truck at 1:33 p.m.
