Crews Battle Wind-Driven River Bottom Fire | Ventura

12.24.2020 | 1:29 AM | VENTURA – Ventura City and County Fire crews responded to a call of a brush fire in the Ventura River bottom adjacent to southbound lanes of US-101 just north of SR-33.

Heavy winds pushed the fire to grow to approximately 2-3 acres towards the ocean. It took about two hours to stop forward progress on the fire.

The cause is unknown at this time.
