A two-vehicle collision caused extensive damage and destroyed two power poles Thursday evening in San Bernardino.
First responders were dispatched around 5 p.m. on September 17, 2026, to the area of 9th and H streets following multiple reports of a major traffic collision involving two vehicles and downed utility poles.
When crews arrived, they found both poles severely damaged. One had been completely snapped in half and was lying across a pickup truck, while the second was also broken but remained standing and leaning over the area.
Multiple people were involved in the collision. All drivers and occupants were evaluated by paramedics at the scene, but no one required transportation to a hospital.
Southern California Edison crews responded to assess the extensive utility damage. Repairs and replacement of the damaged poles were expected to continue into Friday.
