Costa Mesa: Man Killed After Rollover Freeway Crash

10.04.2019 | 11:34 PM | COSTA MESA – A driver was dead after his van rolled over and struck a light pole on an area freeway, late Friday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision with a person possibly trapped on the northbound SR-55 Freeway just north of the SR-73 Freeway around 11:34 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a white panel van that had overturned an unknown number of times before coming to rest against a light pole.

Firefighter paramedics pronounced the driver deceased after attempting to extricate him.

Tire debris were recovered from lanes on the freeway but it was unclear of tire blowout contributed to the crash.

Officers are investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash.
