Corona: Fiery Plane Crash Kills Four On Takeoff

01.22.2020 | 12:11 PM | CORONA – Four people aboard a small plane died after the aircraft crashed and burst into flames during a takeoff attempt, Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities responded to reports of a aircraft down with fire at the Corona Municipal Airport around 12:11 PM.

Crews arriving on scene located a small aircraft at the end of Runway 7 that had overturned and caught fire.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and prevented the fire from spreading to nearby brush.

All four occupants aboard the aircraft were pronounced deceased n scene.

Witnesses said the plane was attempting to takeoff when it failed to lift and struck a fence causing it to overturn at the end of the runway and catch fire.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by aviation and transportation safety officials.
