Corona: Crews Rescue Victims From Flooding Riverbed

03.12.2020 | 2:29 PM | CORONA – Several people were rescued from a riverbed as it began to flood amid heavy rain, Thursday afternoon.

Authorities responded to reports of people trapped on an island in the middle of a riverbed near the intersection of North Lincoln Avenue and Rincon Street around 2:29 PM.

Units arriving on scene located three people requiring rescue from the small island as heavy rains flooded the surrounding area.

A swift water rescue team used an inflatable raft and helicopter to quickly rescue the stranded victims.

All three victims were treated on scene but refused transport to an area hospital.

It is believed the individuals rescued are transients local to the area.
