Commercial Tire Shop Fire Forces Freeway Closure in Bloomington

DETAILS:

  1. On January 29th, 2026, at about 2:52 AM, San Bernardino County Fire and surrounding agencies responded to a commercial structure fire at 17939 Taylor Ave.
  2. Units located a tire shop with multiple vehicles, shipping containers, and other equipment burning to the rear of the property.
  3. Multiple explosions were reported due to propane tanks.
  4. Due to the strong winds, smoke and fire drifted on the freeway, prompting a temporary closure of the Westbound lanes.
  5. The fire was knocked down about 45 minutes after the initial dispatch.
  6. No injuries were reported.
  7. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
  8. CHP reopened the freeway after the smoke had dissipated.
  9. No other infomation was provided at the scene.
