Colton: Fiery Big Rig Crash Closes Prompts Full Freeway Closure

01.15.2019 | 7:35 PM | COLTON – A big rig that burst into flames prompted the closure of a popular freeway, Tuesday night.

Authorities responded to the reported fiery crash involving a big rig on the westbound I-10 Freeway at Rancho Avenue around 7:35 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a big rig that was fully engulfed and quickly began efforts to attack the blaze.

It took nearly 45 minutes to extinguish the flames which prompted the closure of both direction of the I-10 Freeway.

An SUV involved was believed to be involved in the crash with the big rig.

It was unclear whether any injuries occurred as a result of the crash.
