Colton: Bank Robber Dead After Officer-Involved Shooting

10.01.2019 | 6:00 PM | COLTON – A suspected bank robber was dead after a shootout with police, Tuesday evening.

Authorities responded to reports of a silent alarm activated at the Chase Bank located near the intersection of Washington Street and Cooley Drive around 6:00 PM.

Units arriving on scene encountered gunfire coming from the bank.

An officer suffered from a minor wound to his neck but was able to take cover.

A standoff ensued before a SWAT team made entry into the bank and discovered the suspect deceased from a gunshot wound.

Authorities believe the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.

An investigation is ongoing.
