Cockatiel Parrot & Man Rescued From Tree

LOCATION: 6688 Beach Blvd.
AREA/CITY: Buena Park
DETAILS:

  1. Orange County Fire Authority responded to an animal rescue call.
  2. When they arrived at the scene, they found several members of a family walking from an area near Buena Park City Hall to their home.
  3. One of the people had a Cockatiel Parrot on her shoulder.
  4. At some point, the bird became startled, flew off the owner’s shoulder, and flew into a tree at City Hall.
  5. At that time, a family member climbed the tree to get the bird, but he also became stuck about 25 feet up in the tree.
  6. A ladder truck was called, and firefighters were able to rescue both the man and the bird from the tree.
