Classic Mustang Destroyed by Distracted Driver | San Ysidro
04.10.2022 | 11:30 AM | SAN YSIDRO – The male driver and his female passenger were southbound on the I-5 in his classic Ford Mustang, when they were suddenly rear-ended by the female driver of a Toyota CH-R.
The driver of the Mustang lost control and went into the center divider wall.
He suffered a head injury and the female was not injured.
The female driver of the Toyota was able to pull over to the Dairy Mart Rd exit, blocking it.
The #1, #2, and #3 lanes were blocked.
The CHP shut down the southbound to move the Toyota and clear the lanes of debris.
The female driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The male driver of the Mustang did not want to go to the hospital.
The female driver of the Toyota told the CHP that she had looked down at her phone and when she looked up, the Mustang was in front of her.
