- An ambulance crew was driving on Balboa Ave.. when they discovered a male victim lying in the road.
- The male had been riding an electric bicycle and was hit by, they believe, the driver of a gray or silver vehicle.
- The driver kept going.
- The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where they were declared deceased.
- The SDPD has shut down the westbound lanes of Balboa Ave at the I-805 for their investigation.

Synopsis:
A 36-year-old male was riding an electric bicycle westbound in the bike lane of 6900 Balboa Ave. A vehicle
was traveling westbound in the number 2 lane of 6900 Balboa Ave. At some point, the bicyclist veered to the
left and into the path of the vehicle. The vehicle collided with the bicyclist. The driver of the vehicle fled the
scene post-impact. The bicyclist was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. He was pronounced
deceased a short time later. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded to the scene and is handling the collision
investigation.
Update: The suspect vehicle was determined to be a light-colored (possibly gray) 2016-2022 Mercedes Benz E class sedan with front-end damage and missing grill/front-end body pieces.
