Chula Vista: Man On Bird Scooter Killed In Crash

12.22.2018 | 3:56 AM | CHULA VISTA – A man riding a Bird scooter was killed after crashing with a car, Saturday morning.

Authorities responded to the reported crash involving a scooter rider near the intersection of Quintard and 3rd avenues shortly before 4:00 AM.

Crews arriving on scene located a male victim down in the roadway suffering from severe injuries.

The vehicle that struck the rider had reportedly continued on, carrying the victim for approximately 60 feet.

Firefighter paramedics treated the scooter rider on scene before transporting him to UCSD Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Police are on scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
