Chula Vista: Christopher Columbus Statute Vandalized
02.24.2019 | 12:00 PM | CHULVA VISTA – Police are searching for whoever vandalized a statute of Christopher Columbus, Sunday afternoon.
Officers responded to reports of a statute that had been vandalized at Discovery Park sometime overnight.
Units arriving on scene discovered the life-size statute of Christopher Columbus vandalized with paint that read “FU” and “Genocide.”
The plaque providing information about the statute was also stolen.
City workers quickly responded to the scene and removed the paint.
Police are continuing to search for whoever was responsible for the vandalism.
