Chula Vista: Car Fire Brings Traffic To A Slow

11.23.2018 | 5:12 PM | CHULA VISTA – A car fire slowed freeway traffic while firefighters attacked the flames, Friday evening.

Firefighters responded to a reported car fire on the northbound I-805 just north of Bonita Road around 5:12 PM.

Crews arriving on scene found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames with two individuals standing nearby.

Firefighters extinguished the fire within 10 minutes.

Initial reports indicate the driver and passenger, a couple, noticed something wrong. They pulled over and exited the vehicle shortly before it caught fire.

The California Highway Patrol shut down traffic on the northbound I-805 while firefighters extinguished the fire.
