CHP Pursuit of Armed Robbery Suspects Ends in Crash | Santee

04.24.2022 | 10:00 AM | SANTEE – Two black males robbed a 76 Gas Station at gunpoint in the City of Santee. A description of the suspects’ vehicle was put out of the police dispatches region-wide and a CHP found the car, (a Green Mustang w/Black hood) going southbound on the I-805 in the City of San Diego. The officer attempted to stop the suspects and they fled at a high rate of speed for a short distance. The suspect crashed into the rear of a female driving an SUV at Market St. Both suspects fled on foot. One male was detained quickly and a large manhunt took place for the second male. The search concentrated on Toyne St and Denby St just south of Market St. Residents were asked to remain inside their homes as the suspect was considered to be armed & dangerous. The 2nd male was not found and the search was called off after approx 1 hour. The female who was hit by the suspect’s car was not injured.
