The driver then saw the driver of a Tesla hit and kill the mother duck. He stopped his truck and was able to herd the ducklings to be under his truck and he called the CHP.
Two officers arrived and by crawling under the truck with boards, they were able to capture 7 of the ducklings. At one point, several ran under the truck towards the oncoming traffic, but the officers stopped them and chased them back to under the truck.
2 more ducklings were caught by one officer and the EDCO employee. The ducklings were transported to San Diego’s Project wildlife to be raised and then released back out into the wild.
