CHP Attempts Rescue in Fatal Construction Site Rollover

DETAILS:
- A man is dead after flying off a transition road, flipping over, and landing in an active construction zone Monday night
- Calls came in from workers working a construction zone on the 605 freeway under the 91 regarding the solo vehicle crash
- Officers from CHP arrived on scene to discover one male still trapped inside the truck, unresponsive
- Construction personnel and CHP officers utilized construction tools to pry the passenger door open from the truck to gain access to the victim
- Officers pulled the victim out of the vehicle as LA County FD personnel arrived on scene
- Firefighters performed CPR on the patient but ultimately declared him deceased
- The truck narrowly avoided a construction crane and many pedestrians who were working in the area. No other injuries were reported
- The EB CA-91 to NB I-605 transition, as well as the NB I-605 to WB CA-91 transition ramps, have been shut down as a result of this traffic investigation until further notice
