Chino Hills: Brush Fire Burns Home, Scorches 150+ Acres

07.28.2019 | 2:00 PM | CHINO HILLS – A brush fire burned at least one home and scorched more than 150 acres, Sunday evening.

Authorities responded to reports of a brush fire near Falling Star Lane and Chino Hills Parkway around 2:00 PM.

Units arriving on scene located the fire burning in a rugged area and began efforts to attack the blaze.

The fire quickly spread, threatening and eventually burning at least one home, before firefighters could get a handle on the blaze.

By the evening crews had contained the fire that burned an estimated 150 or more acres.

The fire was reportedly caused by a bird on a power line that caught fire.
