Child Trapped Under Vehicle After Crash Into Building, Encinitas

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 10-8-25 5:59 pm
LOCATION: S Coast Hwy 101 & E D St
AREA/CITY: Encinitas
DETAILS:

1. ENCINITAS: At around 5:59 pm several reports of a vehicle into a structure came into 911 at the intersection of S Coast Hgw 101 & E D St.
2. Additional reports came into that a child was trapped under the vehicle.
3. Firefighters arrived on scene and confirmed a vehicle into a structure with a child trapped underneath the vehicle per radio traffic.
4. An air ambulance was also requested to the scene. But was not utilized.
5. Firefighters assessed several other patients as well.
6. including a separate vehicle that was struck prior to the truck crashing into the Gelato 101 shop.
7. A County building inspector was requested to the scene. SDSO is investigating this crash.
