Cerritos: Tanker Truck Overturns On Freeway Spilling Transmission Fluid

09.12.2019 | 11:03 PM | CERRITOS – A truck driver was hospitalized after the tanker truck he was driving overturned on a freeway transition, late Thursday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a overturned tanker truck on the southbound I-605 Freeway transition to the westbound SR-91 Freeway around 11:03 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a tanker truck overturned spilling fluid on the freeway.

The driver of the truck was assisted out of the truck by a passing ambulance crew before being transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.

Hazardous materials teams responded to the scene to assist in controlling a spill of what authorities later identified as 7,700 gallons of transmission fluid.

Authorities closed the transition road until further notice while they worked to clear the scene.
