Cerritos: Pedestrians Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver On Busy Freeway

11.01.2019 | 9:25 PM | CERRITOS – A couple was struck by a hit-and-run driver while having their disabled vehicle towed on a busy freeway, Friday night.

The male and female couple were having their disabled vehicle towed from the southbound I-605 Freeway near the SR-91 Freeway around 9:25 PM.

While a tow truck driver was hooking up the couple’s vehicle a dark colored minican careened into the couple.

Both the male and female were injured but the driver of the minivan fled shortly after.

Firefighter paramedics transported both the male and female victim to an area hospital with moderate to major injuries.

Officers are using a helicopter to search the surrounding areas for the suspected hit-and-run driver.
