Cement Mixer Plows Into Homes and Displaces 18 People

DETAILS:

  1. Firefighters and Police responded to calls of a vehicle into a structure.
  2. Upon arrival, firefighters located a cement mixer partially inside a house, with another house also sustaining significant damage.
  3. PG&E Workers shut off utilities to both residences for safety as crews worked the scene.
  4. Per Battalion Chief Petersen of the North County Fire Authority, No injuries were reported, but both houses that were involved were red tagged by the building department, and 18 people were displaced as a result.
  5. It is unknown how the cement mixer ended up rolling into the homes. The road is expected to be closed for several hours as crews work to remove cement from the truck to eventually extract it
