Catalytic Converter Thieves Arrested After Multi-County Pursuit | San Diego

03.25.2022 | 8:00 PM | SAN DIEGO – A pursuit of a white SUV with 2 females and a male began in Los Angeles County after some catalytic converters were stolen. The pursuit came into San Diego County down the I-5 at speeds over 100 mph. from the I-5 South to the I-805 south and then I-8 east. They were throwing the catalytic converters out onto the freeway. They eventually made their way onto Camino Del Rio and then went the wrong way on the off-ramp towards the I-15 north. They had been spike strip at some point and they stopped prior to hitting the I-15. The 3 suspects then fled on foot up the hillside with one female caught in the brush and the other two were caught on the city streets in the Kensington neighborhood.
