Catalytic Converter Theft Suspects Arrested In Downtown LA

At approximately 3:30 a.m. on April 15, 2026, officers responded to reports of possible catalytic converter theft suspects in a white van in the downtown Los Angeles area.

According to Los Angeles Police Department, units located the vehicle near Venice and Olive and requested additional resources, including an air unit and supervisor, before following the van onto the 10 Freeway and then the 110 Freeway.

The incident ended near 23rd Street and Flower Street, where officers conducted a stop and took two male suspects into custody at gunpoint.

Authorities recovered at least one catalytic converter, a battery-powered saw, and other suspected burglary tools, along with electrical conduit containing wiring inside the vehicle.

The investigation remains ongoing.
