Cat Narrowly Escapes Pack Of Coyotes In Highland

A Highland cat had an incredibly close call with a pack of coyotes over the weekend, escaping by inches as surveillance cameras captured the frightening encounter.

The incident happened late Saturday night outside the home of Mike Romero in Highland.

Romero said he suddenly heard loud thudding and rustling outside his front door. When he went outside and opened the door, his cat came running out from underneath a neighbor’s vehicle and made it safely inside.

Surveillance video shows several coyotes approaching the porch and beginning to stalk the cat. The cat can be seen arching its back and hissing as the coyotes move closer.

Moments later, the cat suddenly bolts through a hole in the fence as the coyotes lunge after it. The cat narrowly escapes and disappears from view with the coyotes just inches behind.

Romero later recorded video of his cat safe and sound inside the home just minutes after the encounter. He said he was extremely relieved and happy his cat made it home safely.
